Annette Ní Thuathail is from Ballincollig, Co. Cork but she is married locally. She has a BA degree in Irish and Physical Education from Limerick University and subsequently studied for a M.Sc in School Management in University of Ulster. She works as Principal in Coláiste Sheosaimh Irish College in Conamara Gaeltacht every summer. Annette has additional qualifications in Gaelic football, hockey, camogie, rugby and basketball. She is teaching in Coláiste Oiriall since it was founded in 2004.
Annette taught in Glanmire Community College in Cork before moving to Monaghan. She has six County, four Provincial and two All-Ireland senior club medals in Ladies Football with her adopted club, Donaghmoyne. She played basketball for Cootehill before moving to Muckno Lakers in Castleblayney and has been a member of successive winning teams in the Basketball Ireland North East League. She coached under age basketball teams in Carrickmacross for a number of years.
