Mar bhuaitheoirí an chontae rachaidh foireann chéad bhliain Futsal Oiriall go Leitir Ceannain Dé Máirt chun páirt a ghlacadh i gCraobh Uladh. Coláiste Oiriall 1st Year Girls will represented Monaghan in the Ulster Finals of the FAI Futsal soccer competition in Letterkenny on Tuesday. The team coach is Seán Ó Máirtín.

The semi-final of the Poetry Aloud takes place in the National Library of Ireland on Thursday, 16th November. Ag an searmanas bronnta i Halla Ceolchoirme Ollscoil Luimní. Ó chlé: Mr. JP McManus, Jorin Ó Conchúr, Brendan Ó Dufaigh, Príomhoide Choláiste Oiriall agus Mary Mitchell O’Connor, TD, Minister of State for Higher Education. Each scholarship is worth almost €34,000 over five years of undergraduate study.

As part of the Science Technology Engineering and Maths week in Coláiste Oiriall, students were given the opportunity to take part in the Hour of Code.  This is a global initiative by the non-profit organisation Code.org.  Tens of millions of students from over 180 countries around the world took part this hour long introduction to computer science and computer programming.

Coláiste Oiriall student, Brendan Mac Domhnaill, is the All-Ireland champion in Poetry Aloud competition. He won the junior category and went on to win the overall title speaking two poems in the final in the National Library of Ireland, Kildare Street, Dublin last Friday.
