Two of Coláiste Oiriall’s designs have made it through to the Junk Kouture’s regional finals which will be held in the Millennium Forum, Derry on 4th March. Eighty designs will go through to the Grand final in the 3 Arena the following month.

The two successful designs are ‘Gléastacht na Linne Seo’ (Modern Elegance), modelled by Roisin Ní Amaill and devised by Caoimhe Ní Mhathúna and Cailín Báile Punc’ (Punk Ballerina)) modelled by Micheala Ní Anlúain assisted by Michaela Ní Dhonnghaile with Inza Nic Canna.
Guímid ádh mór ar dá chulaith i gCraobh Uladh agus b’iontach fáil chomh fada le Craobh Reigiúnda Uladh i nDoire ag tús mhí na Márta. Tagann coincheap an chomórtais seo as bruscar agus fuílleach fabraice. Gabhann na daltaí buíochas leis an Mhúinteoir Olivia Mulholland as na huaireanta fada breise a rinne sí leo chun na cultacha a chur in oiriúint don chomórtas.
Junk Kouture sparks the imagination for young people and encourages them to create unique and original outfits using only recycled materials such as general litter and items that are due to be thrown out. This is Ireland’s leading fashion and art competition for 2nd level students.
