Congratulations to Amy Ni Amaill, a Leaving Certificate student in Coláiste Oiriall, who won gold in the 800m at the National Indoor Junior (under 20) championships a fortnight ago in Athlone. She defeated Rose Finnegan from Bohermeen AC in Co. Meath in a time of 2:18:96 – the same time as Finnegan.

Níl mórán le sparáil ag Amy ach an rása bainte aici mar sin féin.Níl mórán le sparáil ag Amy ach an rása bainte aici mar sin féin.

Ba mhaith le Coláiste Oiriall comhghairdeas a dhéanamh le Amy Ní Amaill a bhuaigh an bonn óir sa rása 800m sna Craobhacha Náisiúnta Sóisearacha (faoi 20) Lastigh in Ath Luain le gairid. Bhuaigh sí gradam Réalta arís i mbliana fagus bhuaigh sí gradam luthchleasaíochta Chontae Mhuineacháin fosta ag deireadh na seachtaine. Sin dea-scéala faoi thrí do ghirseach Scairbh na gCaorach, macléinn Choláiste Oiriall agus reathaí Glaslocha Harriers.

Agus iad ag cur síos uirthi ar na mallaibh dúirt na Harriers: “Amy has once again demonstrated that hard work and dedication does pay off. Her attitude to her training and competition is an inspiration to us all and that is why Amy has won an All-Ireland Star award again this year. This is a great achievement and we are very proud of her receiving this prestigious award”.

Agus a ndúirt muid lá breithe shona do Amy fosta? Bhuel lá breithe shona.
