The results of this year’s Peann agus Pár Literary Competition held in Coláiste Oiriall before Christmas were announced during Tionól Scoile (School Assembly) on Thursday. The adjudicator complimented the entrants in all sections, saying that the standard was very high. Four sections of the competition were dedicated to English medium entries and a further four sections were devoted to Irish medium entries.

The overall ‘Scríbhneoir na Bliana’ (Writer of the Year) and Buanchorn Phádraig Uí Bhaoighill will also be announced at the Awards Ceremony in May. These literary competitions in short stories, prose and poetry adhere to Coláiste Oiriall’s promotion of literacy skills in the school.
