Bhuaigh foireann cailíní peile faoi 20 Choláiste Oiriall leathchraobh Uladh ag rannóg C in Ard Mhacha ag tús na seachtaine. Sa deireadh bhí bua furasta go leor acu in eadán Choláiste San Doiminic, Beál Feirste 8-9 go dtí 2-7. Hobair gur cuireadh an cluiche ar ceal mar go raibh siocán ar an talamh ach sa deireadh cuireadh siar é uair a chloig. Bhain gortú do Hannah Nic Sceacháin go luath sa chluiche, buille do fhoireann Oiriall ach d’oibrigh siad le go dian ar fud na páirce. Imreoidh siad buaiteoirí an chluiche idir Coláiste Columba, na Gleanntaí agus Coláiste Malachí, Caisleán Uidhilín sa chraobh an tseachtain seo chugainn. Comhghairdeas leis an fhoireann agus leis Pic 2 - Emmaan bhainisteoir, an Múinteoir Orla.

Coláiste Oiriall have advanced to the under 20 Ulster C Girls Final after defeating St. Dominic’s College, Belfast in Armagh on Monday by 8-9 to 2-7. In the end it was a facile enough victory although St. Dominic’s was a big, physical team. The match was almost deferred due to frost on the pitch but a compromise was agreed and the match when ahead at the arranged venue but an hour later. Coláiste Oiriall lost Hannah Nic Sceacháin through injury after three minutes but despite this blow dug deep and worked hard throughout the field. Next week Coláiste Oiriall will play the winners of St. Columba’s, Glenties V St. Malachy’s, Castlewellan next week.

Immediately after Belfast scored a goal, Oiriall worked the ball up the field and this culminated in an opportunistic goal from Emma Ní Chleirchín. Morgan Nic Cionna, a young player moved from forwards to midfield where she was very effective. Lianne Nic an Bhaird successfully took over the role in defence usually played by Niamh Ní Chiaráin who was out injured. Oiriall management made a number of positional changes when Hannah Nic Sceacháin was replaced by Aisling Ní Fhearghais. Celine Ní Fhailigh played well despite a tough weekend of basketball in Tralee and track and field athletics in Antrim. Lynda Paddy Nic Giolla Mhichil again got on the scoresheet with two goals while Chloe Nic Giolla Bhríde played exceptionally well on the half forward line.
