Comhghairdeas le Nuálaithe Sóisialta Óga Choláiste Oiriall as an gníomaíocht tionsaithe airgid a bhailigh níos mó ná €400 don Donal Walsh #LiveLife Foundation.

The Young Social Innovators in Coláiste Oiriall have this year launched a positive mental health awareness campaign which they have called “Inis Dúinn”. The aim of their project is to raise awareness that help is available to everyone. The group has been raising awareness through their Facebook page “Inis Dúinn”, which contains the details of websites and phone numbers of the help available. “Inis Dúinn” means “Tell Us”.

Tá an fhoireann de Nuálaithe Sóisialta Óga i mbliana i ndiaidh feachtas sláinte intinne dearfach a chur i bhfeidhm, dárbh ainm “Inis Dúinn”. Is é an sprioc atá ann ná chun teachtaireacht a chur amach go bhfuil an-chuid cuidithe amuigh ansin ach go gcaithfidh tú insint do dhuine éigin – caithfidh tú insint dúinn!

So many people are willing to help you resolve whatever problem it is that you may have. However, we need you to take that first step and “Inis Dúinn”.

Tá cárta eolais deartha ag an ghrúpa fosta leis na huimhreacha tábhachtacha ar fad. Fuair gach dalta i gColáiste Oiriall ceann de na cártaí seo. Chomh maith leis seo, tá postaer i ngach seomra ranga agus sna pasáistí chun aird na ndaltaí a tharraingt ar an fheachtas.

This year’s Young Social Innovators have also designed a wallet information card, which again contains the relevant websites and phone numbers of help available. They have distributed these cards to all Coláiste Oiriall students, as well as in-school poster campaign.

Last week the Transition Year students attended a presentation in the Seomra Taispéantas delivered by Cheryl Comiskey, Senior Social Worker with Children and Adolescents with the HSE. Students found this to be very reassuring, informative and indeed worthwhile.

Its main goal is to get young people (15-18yrs) involved in action which helps improve the lives of others in their community. YSI involves thousands of young people in Ireland each year in hundreds of projects and social enterprises which are youth-led, team-based and action-focused. On 26th March the Coláiste Oiriall YSI team will be one of many groups invited to present their project at the YSI Speak Out Regional forum in the Waterside Theatre in Derry. A national Showcase of Young Social Innovators will take place on 6th May in the City West Hotel and Convention Centre, where thousands of young social innovators will come together and showcase their projects
