Coláiste Oiriall           3-12                 Inver College             3-7

The quarter before the interval proved fortuitous for the Oiriall boys when they came more and more into the game. It was end to end stuff in a tough game of football in difficult conditions at the Monaghan town venue.

Shane Mac Cionna scored a goal in the first half to bring them back into the game. In the second half Conor O Mealláin took a pass from Ógie Ó Dufaigh and shot for goal, his shot hit the post and was deflected into the net. Shane Mac Cionna got a second goal late in the second half after having earlier missed a goal opportunity when he hit the woodwork. Iarracht foirne a bhí anseo dáiríre agus cé go raibh gasuraí Oiriall thíos go dona luath sa chluiche níor chaill siad uchtach.

Shane Mac Cionna also scored a late point from a difficult angle out on the wing. Scóráil Conor Ó Dughaill roinnt pointí, scóráil Anann Ó Conchúir pointe galánta fada amuigh agsu fauiar Conor Ó Mealláin dornán pointí chomh maith leis an chúl.

Dearcán Ó Donnghaile was superb at full back as was Aindriú Ó Loideáin at half back who read every move of the game exceptionally well. D’imir na cosantóirí uilig ar fheabhas i rith an chluiche. The final score was 3-12 to 3-7

Coláiste Oiriall under 16 boys will be confident going into the game with Ballybay CC next week after having defeated Inver College, Beech Hill College, Largy College and drawing with Castleblayney College earlier in the season.
