Cispheil cailíní faoi 16

Coláiste Oiriall                        70

St. Oliver’s, Drogheda            33

The Oiriall girls had stretched their lead to 36 points at half time but became somewhat complacent allowing St. Oliver’s into the game in the third quarter. The leading scorer was Alison Nic Giolla Bhríde with nearly thirty points.

Bhí an cluiche seo iontach aontaobhach agus ag deireadh an chéad cheathrú bhí Coláiste Oiriall chun tosaigh 26-11. Ag leathama d’éirigh an bearna níos mó le 50 pointe go dtí 14. Rinne Coláiste Oiriall talamh slán den bhua sa tríú ceathrú agus níor scóráil said ach ciseán amháin i gcomparáid le 16 phointe ó St. Oliver’s. Ag an deireadh chríochnaigh an cluiche 70-33. Scóráil Alison Nic Giolla Bhríde 27 bpointe, Aisling Ní Ghallchóir agus Morgan Nic Cionna 14 phointe an duine. Bhí Blaithín Ní Dhulain iontach ar na cláracha agus ag buachaint seilbh na liathróide.

Aisling Ní Ghallchóir and Caoimhe Nic an Bháird finished every fast break with great baskets. Aisling and Morgan scored 14 points each and Blaithin Ní Dhulain worked hard getting possession of the ball. Morgan and Alison had some delightful combination play which allowed Alison to finish well. Gemma Nic Seáin was also very effective, particularly early in the game.

The girls will now play the All-Ireland quarter final play-offs on Saturday, 16th January with the winners of North East, East and North West going through to the All-Ireland semi-final.
