Thaistil 31 dalta ó Choláiste Oiriall go Lurgan chun páirt a ghlacadh i gcomórtas rásaíocht trastíre ar an Deardaoin seo chuaigh thart agus i ndiaidh rásaí an lae beidh seachtar ón scoil ag dul ar aghaidh go dtí Craobh an Chúige, Amy Ní Amaill san áireamh a bhuaigh an chéad áit sa rása 2500m faoi 17. 31 students from Coláiste Oiriall travelled to Lurgan to compete in the District D Cross Country last Thursday 30th January.  There was a great turnout with 773 athletes from schools in Monaghan, and Armagh taking part.  Coláiste Oiriall had a very successful day with seven students qualifying for the Ulster cross country which will take place in Mallusk in late February.

The girls had a successful day with Caoimhe Nic a Bhaird, Sorcha Ní Néill and Helen Nic an Fhailí qualifying in the under 13, 14 and 15 age groups respectively and Amy Ní Amaill had a strong performance with a convincing win in the under 17 age group over 2500m.  Anann Ó Conchúir qualified under 14 and Jack O Daighre and Darren O Dufaigh both qualified in the under 17 age groups. The students were accompanied to Lurgan by Múinteoir Chloe Bhreathnach and Múinteoir Deirdre Nic Cionnaith.
