Thug daltaí Ceimice 5ú bliana Choláiste Oiriall cuairt ar Ioad Cóireála Uisce i dTeach na dTrí Mhíle i gcuideachta a múinteora, Jane Nic Pháidín. Ba é Uinseann Mac Cionna, tuismitheoir duine de na daltaí a bhí mar threoraí. Bhain na daltaí an-tairbhe as mar tá timpeallacht uisce ar cheann de na topaicí Ardteiste atá le clúdach acu.

5th Year Chemistry students in Coláiste Oiriall visited the Togan Water Treatment Plant in the Threemilehouse – Corcaghan area last Thursday. After signing in, a safety briefing was conducted on arrival. The tour was facilitated by Vincent Mc Kenna. Part of the 1½  hour was indoors and part of the tour was outside.

Togan Water Treatment Plant is a conventional WTP with Screening/ pH Pretreatment/ Coagulation/ Clarification/ Filtration/ pH Correction/Disinfection/ Fluoridation. Chemicals used are as follows: Na2CO3 Sodium Carbonate [pH correction], Al2(SO4)3 Aluminium Sulphate [Coagulation], Cl2 Chlorine Gas [Disinfection] and 2H2SiF6 Hydrofluorisilic Acid [Fluoridation]. The students were accompanied by their teacher, Múinteoir Jane Nic Phaidín.
