Coláiste Oiriall has enjoyed considerable success in Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball this week. On Tuesday, the 1st Year Boys’ team defeated Largy College in Clones by 34-8 with Francis Ó hAodha the main scorer with 10 points. Dylan Mac Cionna and Calvin Carlise score 6 points each. Cian Ó Conraoi and Calvin Carisle both played excellently.

In the 2nd Year match against the same opposition with Coláiste Oiriall won by 22-12. Francis Ó hAodha controlled his boards, rebounded his own shots and managed a personal tally of 8 points. The Girls’ teams travelled to Bailieborough Community School on Thursday. Our 1st Year team won by 36-8 while the 2nd Year team won by 28-8. In the 1st Year game, Aisling Ní Fhearghais scored 8 points, Carla Ní Dhochartaigh, Amy Ní hAmaill and Charlotte Ní Ghiolla Chomhail scored 6 points each while Aoife Ní Roideáin and Megan Ní Chasaide deserve special praise for intercepting the ball.
Ellen Ní Bhriain was the top scorer with 10 points in the 2nd Year gam while Orna Ní Fhlanagáin and Anna Ní Chrarráin scored 6 points each and Hannah Ní Chleirchín 4 points. Emer Ní Loingsigh and Liane Nic an Bhaird had the game of their lives.
