Coláiste Oiriall’s first year girls were slow to react in the opening quarter of their game against Largy College in Clones.  Grace Ní Ghrianáin scored the opening basket but Coláiste Oiriall was unable to add to the tally in spite of dominating the possession and having ample scoring opportunities. D’aimsigh Caoimhe Smith ó Choláiste Learga ciseán, rud a d’fhág na foirne ar chomhscór ag deireadh an chéad cheathrú leis an scór íseal dhá phointe an taobh.

The second quarter started with Brianán Ni Shearraigh scoring a basket from a long distance out. Nicole Nic An Fhailigh added another great score and Carla Ní Dhochartaigh clocked up another basket and one from the free throw line while she was fouled in the act of shooting. Defensively Charlotte Nic Giolla Comhail rebounded her boards well and Aisling Ni Fhearghais forced many turn-overs which left Largy College scoreless for the second quarter.  Ag leatham bhí Coláiste Oiriall chun tosaigh 9 – 2.

Again the third and fourth quarters were low scoring affairs with Coláiste Oiriall failing to capitalise on all their possession. Aoife Ni Roidean, Amy Ni hAmaill and Brianan Ní Shearraigh all managed to contributing scores in this half with Laoise Ní Laoire tenacious on defensive throughout the half.  Bhuaigh Coláiste Oiriall le 15 – 7 ach ghlacfadh siad feabhsú roimh na chéad chluichí eile

The second year game Coláiste Oiriall against Largy College started at tremendous pace with Ellen Ní Bhriain running in three easy lay-ups from the tip off. Lianne Nic an Bhaird and Orna Ní fhlanagain a basket a piece to leave the score at the end of the first quarter 10 – 4.  In the second qurter the teams were far more evenly matched and Colaiste Oiriall had to work hard to contest the boards.  Anna Nic Cearrain and Eimear Ní Loinsigh made strong breaks and Amy Ní hAmaill finished with a nice lay up on the other end of the court. Coláiste Oiriall were forced into making many basics errors such as conceding travelling and foul violations but the solid defence meant the half time score was 18 – 4.

The second half saw Coláiste Oirial improve their team performance and patient play from Hannah Ni Chleircín and Sarah Ni Thighearnáin resulted in some lovely baskets.  Megan Ní Chleircín was outstanding in her defensive role and allowed Largy College very little room to create any scoring opportunities.  Frances Ni Chonghaile Nic Aodha stole the ball on many occasions and quickly outletted the ball to Lianna Nic an Bhaird who finished nicely. Ag an fheadóg dheireanach bhí bua furasta ag Coláiste Oiriall 35 – 10.
