Many congratulations to Áine Ní Fhlanagáin, a Fifth Year student in Coláiste Oiriall, who won the All-Ireland title in the Scléip National Talent Competition for post primary schools in the Axis Theatre, Ballymun on Saturday. Áine is a prominent member of Carrickmacross Comhaltas CeoltóirÍ Éireann.

She won her coveted award in the solo traditional music section, playing the harp. Seventeen schools reached the finals stages of the competition this year. She had won the provincial heat of the competition in Cultúrlann Uí Chianáin, Derry at the beginning of February. 

The adjudicators were Ríonach Ní Néill, Martin Tourish and Ray Mac Mánais.

Áine, along with Aoife Ní Chonraoí and Ailís Ní Bheirn also reached the national finals on Saturday in the Traditional Singing section but were unsuccessful with a competitor from Pobalscoil Ghaoth Dobhair, Co. Donegal winning the title. The Coláiste Oiriall contestants were accompanied by an Múinteoir Nuala to the Axis Theatre. Déanann gach duine sa scoil comhghairdeas ó chroí le hÁine.
