Study

Continuous hard work is required to achieve good results in the state examinations. Homework is set and corrected very regularly in all subjects. Between two hours and five hours are recommended for homework and/or study depending on what year the student is in. Disciplinary procedures will be implemented if homework remains undone and parents will be informed. Students do formal in house examinations at Christmas and summer and reports are sent home three times annually: Halloween, Christmas and summer. Students studying for state examinations do mock examinations early in the New Year.

Evening Study is available each Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday between 3.45 pm and 6.30 pm. Parents are asked to seriously consider enrolling their son/daughter in the facility, especially 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th Year students. We believe it to be very beneficial to the students’ study routine. Study Skills are emphasized in the school and the Career Guidance Teacher and all the teachers make every effort to explain to students how to study and how to draw up study plans. A Study Skills seminar is organized annually for many of the year groups.
